Purpose and growth

Dr. J. Christoph Scheytt and Dr.-Ing Günter Grau together founded advICo microelectronics GmbH in August of 2000 from a desire to advance the field of microelectronics by researching and developing integrated circuits. An intention to do their part in bringing new business and opportunity to the Ruhr area was a deciding factor for locating advICo in Recklinghausen.

Since 2000 a multitude of patents and cutting edge developments have been brought to fruition, for which licenses are available to those who will benefit from our intellectual property.

From 2006, Dr.-Ing Günter Grau has taken over the day to day operations of advICo and currently functions as Chief Engineer and Managing Director, while Dr. J. Christoph Scheytt has shifted his focus to teaching at the University of Paderborn. Our reasearch is frequently conducted in cooperation with universities.

In 2013, advICo added value to our organisation when we obtained distribution rights and support for Sonnet Software in northern and western Europe. A suite of software for high frequency 3D planar EM analysis that develops the most precise RF models with reproducible error of under 0.1% for precise design. POLDI, our revolutionary optical micro angle sensor, is set to hit markets in late 2015. This angle sensor based on the polarization of light received a product of the year award in 2014 from Elektronik – Fachmedium für industrielle Anwender und Entwickler.
